Improvements in the write capabilities while keeping the same read speeds would make the next Patriot drive all the rage. This is disappointing, but this drive has its positives, especially in the physical design and the read abilities. Patriot has attempted to do so, but unfortunately in real life we are unable to attain their estimated write numbers. As I requested in the Kingston HyperX Fury review, it would be great if manufacturers could close the disparity between the read and write performance. Even if we forgot the numbers Patriot provided us, in comparison to other USB flash drives and external hard drives, the Patriot Supersonic Rage 2's write performance was only average at best. Despite testing this drive on multiple computers, through multiple benchmarks, we were unable to attain any write numbers close to the advertised one. On the flip side, the problem with Rage 2 was revealed in its write performance. It outperformed practically every USB drive in this department, and thus is a sight to behold. The read performance is without a doubt record-breaking compared to what we have tested in the past, and indeed this is one supersonic drive. When I actually plugged this USB drive into my computer, I was met with a few more shocks. At a retail price of around $200 USD at press time, this drive hits the wallet at around $0.78/GB. Thirdly, the Rage 2 is one of the more expensive flash drives too. Patriot Supersonic RAGE Pro - USB flash drive - 256 GB - USB 3.2 Gen 1. The cap less design is implemented masterfully, and small things like a notification light are good to see. Secondly, the drive is physically tiny despite its huge capacity. At 128GB or 256GB, this is not necessarily the largest flash drive I have seen, but is big nonetheless. For one, the storage capacity is amazing. When I first received the Patriot Supersonic Rage 2 256GB, I was met with several surprises.
